Is Nuxe sustainable?

Nuxe is rated eco skilled, meaning that it has already adopted a more responsible approach to beauty by minimizing its impact on nature. The majority of the products are not only gentle to your skin but also to the environment. Synthetic ingredients are avoided and the brand is constantly looking for new active ingredients extracted from plants. Nuxe strives for a more eco-friendly approach from the selection of the natural-origin ingredients to the formulation and finally the packaging. Environmental footprint of Nuxe

Nuxe cares about the ingredients it uses for its formulas. That’s why none of the products contain any synthetic components, such as parabens, mineral oils, synthetic colorants, etc. The ingredients are extracted using green and non-polluting methods. Also, it doesn’t use any materials regulated by CITES (Convention on International Trade of Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora).

More than 80% of Nuxs’ formulas are biodegradable in order to limit the environmental impact. To that, the brand also avoids using plastic microbeads in its exfoliators.

In the area of packaging, Nuxe designed 50-ml jars made from recycled materials to sell its products and it constantly develops the packaging for each new product launch with the carbon footprint in mind. The target for 2025 is a 20% reduction in the use of plastic for packaging.

Animal welfare at Nuxe

Nuxe doesn't use raw materials derived from animals- a unique exception is the Rêve de Miel® which contains hive derivatives. Once this last product will turn vegan, we’ll be happy to give full points for our animal welfare criteria.

However, according to our research, Nuxe sells products in China, where animal testing is still required by law. That’s why we decided to deduct one point for animal testing, even though the brand claims it doesn't test any of its finished products or ingredients on animals.
